UHR Conference 2021: Refreshing HR

After the toughest of years, both personally and professionally, many of us are more than ready to reconvene under the UHR Conference banner for UHR21: Refreshing HR. Here, we’ll be able to reconnect with colleagues and find new focus with the help of inspiring speakers. In sessions themed across the entire HR remit we’ll explore new ideas and approaches. We’ll raise our eyes from day jobs that have been Covid-dominated in the last twelve months and towards a new horizon. We all hope that with the arrival of vaccines we can move towards a post-virus world.

We know that some things will never be the same again – and the world of work is one of them. As HR practitioners we’re at the heart of the task to reshape working lives. What do we know now that we didn’t know twelve months ago? How has your own professional thinking changed during a year of crisis? We know the resilience of our universities, our staff and our students has been challenged during the last year. Can we gather together all that we’ve learnt, embed those learnings and build a better working future in higher education? Let’s use the opportunity of the UHR Conference to reinvigorate our HR practice so we are equipped for the work ahead.

Refocusing? Yes. Renewing? That too. Refreshing HR, at UHR21.

As you’ll understand, current guidance means the conference will be held virtually, during the week of 10 to 14 May. We’re a people profession, and of course we’d all love to meet face to face to renew those vital cross-sector relationships in person. But at UHR21 we’ll be doing everything we can to replicate the conference buzz that regular attendees will recognise, with social sessions mixed throughout the programme and opportunities to meet key suppliers and professional services providers. Best of all, a virtual conference gives us a chance to rethink the entire event – with the result that everyone in your HR team will be able to attend via a single ‘Team Ticket’. With no travel costs to pay, and no time out of the office spent travelling, UHR21 is a great opportunity for a week where the whole team can learn together in a truly productive way, dipping in and out of sessions in a style to suit every individual. Closer to the conference we’ll be issuing suggestions in the form of ‘Conference Pathways’ of how different colleagues can make the best of those possibilities. As always, UHR21 is going to be great value.

Refreshing HR at UHR21. We hope you’ll join us.
