Who’s Supporting HR?
HR staff are often the people that the rest of the organisation turn to when they’re feeling overwhelmed by change and their resilience is challenged. The volume and the intensity of some of the emotion work can be challenging, but there is often little support for HR staff as they deal with this casework. More reports are showing that staff in HEIs have found the changes to teaching practice and service delivery over the past year incredibly stressful and it’s the HR staff who have been supporting them through these times. As HEIs begin to transition through the recovery roadmap HR staff will again be at the frontline of supporting staff with more change. These half day sessions provide an opportunity for HR staff to support their own resilience and wellbeing, so that they can, in turn, continue to support others.
Who should attend: front line HR Officers and Business Partners
Learning outcomes
Drawing on Action Learning and ‘Time to Think’ approaches, working in facilitated, small groups of 6-8 participants, these virtual sessions offer HR staff an opportunity to process and decompress the challenges of their roles, in particular providing a safe space to share experiences, feel heard and learn from others. Benefits include:
Your facilitator - Sara Corcoran
She has over 20 years senior HE experience in HR and Organisational Development and played a leading role in some hugely exciting projects, such as the launch of the University of Suffolk and the merger between University College Falmouth and Dartington College of Art (now the University of Falmouth). As a result, she has a good understanding of leading and managing in complex environments. Sara is a qualified Executive Coach, a Fellow of the CIPD, a Board Trustee of the Association of University Administrators and Co-Chair of the OD in HE network.
