Times Higher Education is offering UHR members the the opportunity to host all of their PhD studentship roles on the THEunijobs platform for the next 12 months, absolutely free, as Nick Davis of THE explains.
Dear colleagues,
Whilst recruiting top talent at the peak of their career, loaded with a hefty research portfolio and international networks galore is an enticing prospect, nurturing home-grown talent can be more rewarding endeavour. Recruiting PhD students and promoting them through the ranks can not only save money, but also create engaged and loyal faculty members for your university. However, with Brexit imminent, research funding in an uncertain position and a questionable PhD loan scheme in place, UK universities could be finding it tougher than ever to attract the right young talent. The Times Higher Education would like to help.
For nearly 50 years the THE has worked with universities in the UK to support their recruitment strategies and ambitions. Over this half century the way in which the THE has conducted this work has changed significantly, moving from print advertising through digital and recently into a more targeted programmatic space. During these five decades THE has also significantly diversified its audience, not only geographically (80% of digital audience are from outside of the UK) but also in terms of their career stage. Previously the THE was almost exclusively used to market positions to a very senior academic audience, it now has a growing population of junior and aspiring academics (17% of our digital audience) looking to take the first step in their university careers.
In order to support UK universities further, and in collaboration with UHR, the THE would like to offer member institutions the opportunity to host all of their PhD studentship roles on the THEunijobs platform for the next 12 months, absolutely free! Each studentship will be hosted as a standard online listing (worth £620) with the choice to upgrade to an enhanced online listing (worth £1,190) for just £100. To ensure that your studentships are hosted as efficiently as possible, THE are happy to offer the following means of processing your studentships:
