UHR AI Workshops
Exploring the practical power of AI for HR in higher education with Emma and Sophie
UHR AI Workshops
UHR’s AI Workshops are a new series of free, in-person regional events designed to bring together colleagues from university People Teams to explore the practical potential of AI in day-to-day HR practice.
Each workshop combines short presentations on current AI use in higher education and beyond, insight from experts at our host institutions showcasing cutting-edge research, and facilitated group activities to help participants identify opportunities, barriers and low-cost initiatives. The sessions are highly interactive, with a strong focus on tangible takeaways, every participant will be encouraged to commit to three actions they can take back to their institution.
We will be running three workshops in 2025/26 (South West, Midlands and Scotland), with further regional events planned for 2026/27. Each workshop will offer 40 free places, with a maximum of four colleagues per institution, and is open to all UHR members regardless of role or seniority. While an interest in AI or some experience is helpful, it is not a requirement to attend.
Workshops will be co-facilitated by Emma Brookes and Sophie Crouchman, with refreshments provided and accessible venues selected for each region. If you have any questions before booking, please contact Emma or Sophie.
We're really excited to welcome members to our new series of workshops designed to bring together people practitioners with an interest in using AI in their teams. We developed the workshop concept in response to demand from members for space to explore the potential of AI in a supportive environment, and we're really pleased to be able to offer these free of charge.
The workshops are a great opportunity to connect with peers to share ideas, brainstorm solutions and explore the possibilities that AI can provide to drive new and efficient ways of working. We hope that delegates will come along prepared to get stuck in, and to leave with tangible actions for themselves and their teams.
We look forward to seeing you as we take our workshops on the road across the UK!
