UHR Engagement Group: Survey Analysis and Engaging On Campus Colleagues

We have drafted the agenda for the next meeting of the UHR Engagement Group and here is a summary outline of the two key segments:

Segment 1 = Survey Topic: Survey Results Analysis

  • Where does the task of survey data analysis sit at your institution – dedicated resource, temp resource or handled by external provider?
  • What challenges do you face in terms of confidentiality, skill gaps, and data ownership?
  • We invite attendees to bring with them a “do” and a “definitely don’t do” from their previous experience so we can collectively learn
  • There will be breakout rooms for group discussions with key points to be collated using Padlet

Segment 2 = Hot Topic: Engaging “Deskless” and “On Campus” colleagues

  • Based on your suggestions and votes, this session will cover how you are engaging with groups of colleagues who are harder to reach and/or required to work on campus.
  • We recognise this may be a new challenge and a way to focus on those who are less able to benefit from agile/hybrid/remote working.
  • We are seeking examples from institutions that are tailoring activities for these groups and would love to have one or two members to speak at the meeting; please contact emma@uhr.ac.uk if you are interested!
  • We will be inviting attendees to ask questions and offer insights, reflections and takeaways as a “stream of consciousness” in the chat function

This group has been established to bring members together to consider the various stages of staff surveys, the key engagement stages through the employee life cycle and topical engagement issues. Survey responses from group members have been used to prioritise the order in which meeting topics will be discussed and the types of activities that are most beneficial. We will aim to bring you examples of good practice with an opportunity to discuss and engage with other practitioners on common challenges.

We have also created an MS Teams site for connecting and sharing between meetings; if you would like to be added to the group distribution list and Teams site, please contact emma@uhr.ac.uk
