Tuesday 23rd June 2020

Timings: 10.30-11.30am

BUFDG and UHR are pleased to welcome back KPMG, for a further “time to talk” session that will provide an update on the application of CJRS within the HE sector as well as an overview of the changes from 1 July 2020.

We will run through the changes being introduced from July 2020 to allow for ‘flexible furlough’, providing details from both a tax and employment law perspective in respect of how these will apply, the implications for employee eligibility, as well as their impact on the amount which can be claimed and the calculations required.

With further guidance issued on Friday 12th June, this session will provide an opportunity to discuss this in detail and help Universities consider some of the practical measures that will need to taken in line with our previous 4 stage approach to enable the scheme to be applied in a compliant manner.

In addition to the ‘New’ rules, we will also cover some of the many ongoing updates and share our experiences of applying the scheme and frequently asked questions including:

  • Potential compliance activity by HMRC;
  • The new penalty legislation;
  • Interaction between furlough and redundancies; and
  • The ability to amend claims once submitted.

A link to join the meeting will be sent with your order confirmation.  If you don't receive this please contact Gill Birch.

This webinar is part of the UHR SummerWise* season of learning resources, webinars and blogs from some of our favourite sector voices.
