Covid, Furlough & Redundancy

BEIS has announced a new law to ensure that any employees made redundant, who had also been on furlough (at 80% pay) were not disadvantaged financially when calculating statutory redundancy.  Read the full announcement here.

From 31 July, employees with at least 2 years continuous service who had previously received reduced pay whilst on furlough will be entitled to receive statutory redundancy based on their normal wages (ie 100%) rather than their temporarily reduced furlough pay.
